Saudi Arabia calls Imams of all Mosques in the Kingdom to pray Eclipse prayer Tuesday afternoon
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Saudi Arabia directed the imams of mosques in all regions of the Kingdom to perform the eclipse prayer when witnessing the eclipse of the sun at noon, on 25th October 2022. Like and Follow Saudi Expatriates on Facebook
The Agency for Imams and Muezzins Affairs at the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced that Sheikh Dr. Bandar Balila will be the imam of the eclipse prayer and the prayer is scheduled to be at 1.45 PM on Tuesday, 25th October at the Makkah's Grand Mosque.

- The researcher in weather and climate, Abdulaziz Al-Hussaini said that the Kingdom to witness the partial solar eclipse on Tuesday (25th October 2022) in most of the regions in varying proportions of the Kingdom, advising not to look directly at the Sun.
- Al-Hussaini explained that the partial eclipse of the Sun can be seen in all regions of the Kingdom, in varying proportions, while the Eatern, Central, North-Central and North-Eastern regions of Saudi Arabia to wintess h higher eclipse rate.
- The researcher advised Saudi Citizens and resident expatriate to not to look directly at the Sun at the time of partial eclipse, which will be at peak on 2:24 PM in order to protect the eyes from any damage.
- To look at the solar eclipse a special glasses in this purpose are required, but still no one should look it for long. The regular sunglasses for looking solar eclipse is not enough. Using mobile phone or camera lenses or telescope does not provide any protection for the person, as direct viewing at the solar eclipse causes partial blindness in the eye, as well as changes in color vision. - This Solar Eclipse can be viewed in all regions of Saudi Arabia and the highest percentage can be viewed in Khafji with 41%, this eclipse will be the last in the Kingdom until the year 2027.
- According to a specialist, the partial solar eclipse will peak in Russia and Central Asia by 82%, while in the Arab world, the eclipse will be visible at a rate of 46% in Baghdad and 0.3% in Algeria.

- The percentage of solar eclipses will be 19% in Najran, 17% in Asir region, 22% in Makkah, 33% in Riyadh, 39% in Dammam, 34% in Qassim and Hail region, 27% in Madina and 30% in Tabuk.
