Saudi Arabia is looking to localize 85% of Food Industry jobs - MEWA


The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) in Saudi Arabia has revealed that the Kingdom aims to localize 85% of the country's food industry by the year 2030. Trending : 11 new Saudization decisions before the end of the current year 2022







Dr. Ali Al-Sabhan, the Supervisor General of the Entrepreneurship Department at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture said that Food imports costs in Saudi Arabia is about 70 billion riyals annually, the food sector offers several opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors and owners of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), specifically in view of the great support provided by the Ministry.

- This came from Al-Sabhan during his participation in a seminar with slogan "The Impact of Entrepreneurship and Innovation on Food and Environmental Security of the Gulf Cooperation Council States", which was held as part the Gulf Entrepreneurs Forum. - Al-Sabhan said Saudi Arabia targets to raise its fish production by 500% and increase its exports to 3 billion riyals, in addition to raising the level of dates exports to 2.5 billion riyals by the year 2025, as per the report of Saudi Gazette.





- He said that the ministry is adopting a strategy to develop innovation and entrepreneurship which will eventually contribute to improving the competitiveness and sustainability of the environment, water and agriculture sectors in Saudi Arabia.

- The Ministry is working on developing pioneering projects and activating local and international strategic partnerships, while calling on entrepreneurs to take advantage of various programs offered by the ministry. Read : Saudization of Saudi security services
