Public Security prohibits transfer or publication of CCTV recordings without the approval of competent authority
The Public Security in Saudi Arabia issued a special warning regarding the recordings of security cameras, which were ordered to be installed in government and private institutions. Like and Follow Saudi Expatriates
The Public Security through its official Twitter account said that, it is prohibited to transfer or publish security surveillance camera recordings without the approval of the competent authority.
- The authority highlighted that it is prohibited to transfer surveillance camera recordings, except on the basis of a judicial order or at the request of the competent investigation authority. See Also : Do not hand over your bank data to others, it may expose you to accountability
- Earlier this, approval was issued to oblige all ministries, departments, agencies, institutions, commercial complexes and shopping centers to install security surveillance cameras.
- The decision came after the approval of the Council of Ministers, including placing security surveillance cameras in the Grand Mosque, Prophet's Mosque and the holy sites, in addition to imposing security surveillance cameras on main roads and their intersections within cities and highways that connect cities and governorates.
- The regulation prohibits the installation of security surveillance cameras inside examination rooms, hypnosis, physiotherapy, changing clothes, toilets, salons, women's clubs, housing unit in the tourist accommodation facility, medical operation rooms and private places.
