Saudi Arabia will sponsor the restoration of Islamic Center in Jakarta - Saudi Crown Prince
As a symbol of friendly relations that unite the Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister announced that the Kingdom will sponsor the cost of restoration of the Islamic Center in the Indonesian Capital, Jakarta, after parts of it were damaged due to a fire accident last month. This announcement made by the Saudi Crown Prince after the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, is a confirmation of his keenness and interest in Islamic centers in all brotherly and friendly countries, because of its great role in educating young generations and spreading the tolerance of Islam and its message based on Peace, Moderation and Dialogue.
- The area of Islamic Center in Jakarta covers 109,435 square meters with the facilities like a Mosque with an area of 2,200 square meters, which can accommodate over 20,000 worshippers, a research studies center and a conference hall. - The large dome of the Islamic Center Mosque in Jakarta collapsed in October during its renovation after a major fire, without causing any causalities.
- The General President of the Makkah's Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque in Madina praised the decision taken by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
- He said, since the establishment of Saudi Arabia, its rulers have taken care of several buildings and mosques and Indonesia is at the forefront of countries that have received the support from the Kingdom in this field, as it is the largest Islamic country in terms of population.
