The Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia clarified on the permissible limit for children to sit in front of the Television (TV) screen or electronic devices. See Also : 4 steps to boost child's immunity and maintain their health







The Ministry explained that children from 5 to 18 years of age must set a specific limit so that, it does not exceed 2 hours per day and for pre-school children, the time does not exceed 1 hour per day.

- The Ministry highlighted that children from 18 months to 24 months of age should sit for some time with a parent, but infants up to 18 months of age should not have time to sit in front of TV. Read : 3 dangers for Human, if salt is consumed in large quantities

- Ajyad Emergency Hospital advised the need to reduce the time children use electronic devices, explaining that the more a child reduces the time they use electronic devices, his physical activity increased.





- The hospital further said that, it must be taken into account that children follow the example of their parents, and therefore all family members must reduce the use of electronic devices.

- Children can be encouraged to reduce the use of electronic devices by rewarding the child by going out a place of his choice or practicing an activity he loves, highlighting the need not to allow him to eat while watching TV. - The physical activity recommended for children is at least 60 minutes per day, and its examples are walking, running, playing football, basketball and cycling.
