In the past months, We lost entire families because the use of Mobile phones while driving - Traffic Department
The Director General of Traffic Department, Brigadier Mohsen Al-Zahrani said that, last months we witnessed the occurrence of deadly accidents, in which entire families were killed in several regions of Saudi Arabia, due to the use of mobile phones while driving. During the Traffic Safety Event 2022 in Tabuk region, Al-Zahrani explained that one of the terrible accidents resulted in the death of 7 people and another occurred in Mahdia Governorate which led to the death of the entire family and closure of their home.

- The Brigadier also confirmed the decrease in deaths resulting from accidents in Saudi Arabia, from 27 deaths per 100,000 in the year 2016, to 13.17 deaths per 100,000 in the year 2021.

- The Ministry of Interior seeks to reduce the ratio to two-thirds, that is, 8 deaths per 100,000 during the year 2030, calling on all the competent authorities to unite to achieve the desired goal.
