Decrease in number of Deaths by 2.1%, increase in Accidents by 28% in the Year 2022
The Ministerial Committee of Traffic Safety in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the results of the traffic safety file for the last year (2022) in the country. Recommend : List of prohibited items in Saudi Post parcels
The statistics of Traffic safety showed a decrease in the number of deaths due to the traffic accidents in the year 2022 by 2.1%, reaching 4,555, compared to 4,652 deaths in the Year 2021, while in the Year 2019, there were 5,754 deaths because of traffic accidents, which was greater by 19.2% from the last 3 years. - The authority also revealed that, the damage due to accidents increased by 28% with 1,822,288 (1.8 million) accidents in the Year 2022, compared to 1,423,238 (1.4 million) accidents in the year 2021 and 1,365,205 (1.3 million) accidents in the year 2019 with the increment of only 4.3% between 2019 and 2021.
- The statistics report also indicated that the number of injured people decreased by 2.7% in the Year 2022 with 24,446 injured, compared to 25,137 injured in the Year 2021 and 32,910 in the Year 2019.
- The serious accidents decreased by 6.8% in the Year 2022, as it recorded 16,962 accidents, compared to the Year 2021, when it reached 18,202 and 23,264 in the Year 2019. Read : Wrong or no parking fine in Saudi Arabia
