Hajj quota for the Year 2023 increased for Indians and Indonesians
In a tremendous move, Saudi Arabia raised the Haj quota for India and Indonesia for the year 2023, allowing a record-breaking 1,75,025 Indians to perform Hajj this year. While for Indonesia, the Hajj quota for the Year 2023 increased to 221,000 Indonesians. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Google News
This announcement comes in line with the bilateral agreement signed by Saudi Arabia and India on Monday in Jeddah. The Hajj and Umrah Deputy Minister Dr. Abelfattah bin Suleiman Mash and Indian Consul General Md. Shahid Alam signed the deal at the former's office in Jeddah.

The Hajj Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said that he will be look to increase the more Hajj quota for Indonesia in the special hajj pilgrimage, as many was looking forward to perform Hajj pilgrimage this year under normal conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic. - India's highest quota was achieved in the year 2019, when 1.4 lakh pilgrims made the holy journey of Hajj. The number fell to 1.25 lakh the next year, later the Haj was restricted for India that year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Saudi Arabia welcomed 79,237 Indian pilgrims for Hajj.
- Indonesia's Minister Yaqut said, as per the agreement, there is no age limit for Hajj pilgrims this year, this means pilgrims over 65 years of age can perform Hajj pilgrimage this year.

- As of now, the cost is not yet specified for Hajj package, but as the Indian Rupee and Indonesia Rupiah is depreciating against the US dollar in addition to various other factors in holy sites, this year Hajj packages are expected to go up.
