SAUDI EXPATRIATES

The official Twitter handle of Saudi Moroor has warned trucks and heavy equipment vehicles of not adhering to the right lane designated to them, stating that, those who do not follow the regulation is violating the traffic law and the fine for this violation is between 3,000 to 6,000 riyals.

- The decision of Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics, regarding the guidelines and requirements for the movement of vehicles with double trailers on the roadways was published in the official daily Umm Al-Qura. - According to Article 4 of Traffic Law, the establishment that requests a transport authorization must meet the requirements listed below:

1. The first step is to submit a request for a truck transport permit through the Ministry-approved channels.

2. The second step is to engage in the business of transporting products, the establishment needs a current license from the Authority.

3. The transport vehicle must have valid operating card in the name of the applicant.

4. Choose a route for the double-trailer truck that includes ramps, roundabouts, intersections, and bridges that are appropriate for driving that truck and are separated in both directions. Recommend : 14 traffic violations for which the fine is between 3000 to 6000 riyals

5. The truck owner must get a permit from the organization overseeing the road and its facilities if the travel routes allow for its use if the designated route is not under the Ministry's control.

6. The approval of the recognized organization for the make-up of transport vehicles for double-trailer trucks.

7. If one of the following transport vehicle types are being utilized in the double-trailer truck, identify it in accordance with the approved standard specifications.

- A locomotive and a semi-trailer that tows a trailer with intermediate axles using (a traction pole that is securely fastened to the trailer's chassis in accordance with specified criteria), as long as the locomotive has at least two rear axles.

- A single cargo truck that is towing a semi-trailer with (authorized towing equipment) and has at least two axles on its rear axles. Read : Wrong parking or no parking fine in Saudi Arabia

- A locomotive and a semi-trailer with a towing tray are approved to tow another semi-trailer as long as the locomotive has at least two rear axles.

8. The Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality must authorize all manufacturers of the transport vehicles utilized in the double-trailer truck and all of its parts.

9. According to the requirements of the regulation governing the activity of transporting goods, the mechanism for its implementation, and any amendments to it, the driver must be qualified to operate trucks with double trailers. To do this, the driver must possess the following:

* A valid driving license of the appropriate category issued in accordance with the traffic law and its implementing regulations, provided that he has passed, It is granted for a minimum of two years.
