The General Food Security Authority launches "Enough Lasts" campaign during the blessed month of Ramadan


The General Food Security Authority (GFSA) in Saudi Arabia announced the commencement of the "Enough Lasts" campaign, with the aim of raising awareness to reduce food loss and waste, in addition to decreasing specific forms of waste during the holy month of Ramadan. According to the General Food Security Authority, the initiative's launch is a result of the authority's work to promote reasonable consumption habits, increase public awareness of the value of food security, and encourage the adoption of solutions that help reduce food waste. 

- The ratio of food loss and waste is approximately 33% in the Kingdom, and the annual cost of food waste is estimated to be 40 billion riyals in Saudi Arabia, according to the findings of the baseline study. - Immediately after its start, the campaign witnessed a great involvement from members of society as well as government agencies, the commercial sector and organizations, within the framework of shared social responsibility, which originates from a religious, societal and national perspective.
