Implementation of Saudization in the Optical sector in Saudi Arabia
Following the expiration of the grace period stipulated for the decision on Saudization of the optical sector, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that the decision to localize the optics sector would take effect in all regions of the Kingdom from 18th March 2023 (08/26/1444 AH). This is a continuation of the Ministry's initiatives to give both male and female Saudi citizens an engaging and productive work environment, raise their level of engagement in the Saudi labor market, and increase their contribution to the economy.
- According to a statement released by the Ministry on Saturday, the decision of the Saudization in the optical sector includes the localization of two professions by 50%, which are
1. Medical optometrist and

- The Ministry will offer a package of incentives and assistance to private sector businesses to encourage them to recruit Saudi nationals, including, supporting the hiring process and looking for qualified candidates, assisting with the necessary training and qualification process, assisting with the employment and job stability process for Saudis citizens. In addition, giving preference to Saudis receiving benefits from the system's Saudization support programs through Human Resources Development Fund and Supporting a company's efforts to hire Saudis, to provide more quality job opportunities.
- The Ministry released a directive outlining the specifics of the decision and the process for putting it into effect.
