Saudi Arabia sets penalties on cheating in Medical equipment or supplies
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia stated that adulterated medical devices and supplies are those which purposefully alter their source or identity with the intent to deceive.
A device or medical supply is considered as adulterated if its content has been modified in a way that breaches its safety and security or if it is packaged in fake packaging.
- According to the Saudi Public Prosecution, Medical device and supply fraud is punishable in the Kingdom by
* Imprisonment for a period of up to 10 years.
* A fine of up to 10 million riyals. Trending : Saudi Arabia sets 11th March as the National Flag day
* Temporary closure of the facility for a period of up to 180 days.
* Revocation of marketing permission for medical devices and supplies.
* Suspension of marketing authorization, for medical equipment and supplies for up to a year.
* Ban from practicing any activity related to medical devices and supplies for a period of up to 180 days.
* License revocation, all the above applies as per the law of Medical equipment and supplies (42).
* Publication of judgement after the verdict acquires final character, as per the Medical Devices and Supplies Law (46).

> Cheating or attempting to cheat in any medical device or equipment.
> Sold, exchanged or possessed with intent to trade adulterated medical devices and supplies with knowing it.
> Bringing into the Kingdom a device or medical equipment that is not registered, adulterated or does not have a marketing permit, or attempts any one of the mentioned.
> Brought into the Kingdom the packages or covers the medical equipment or supplies with the intent of fraud or attempted to enter any of that. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Linkedin
> Manufacture, print, possess, sell or display packages or covers for a medical device or equipment with the intent to cheat.
