The food expert also highlighted that there are many advantages of honey, the main one being that "the antioxidants included in honey are associated to reducing the risk of blood illnesses," the expert said in a tweet posted on his official account on the social networking site "Twitter."

- Research suggests that honey may treat digestive illnesses, such as diarrhoea brought on by gastroenteritis, the expert stated.
- Honey has been shown to be effective in reducing sore throat and cough symptoms as well as overall symptoms brought on by upper respiratory tract infections, including those of the nose, throat, and airways leading to the lungs, according to studies published by Harvard University and which carried out on 1,800 people.
