Is Umrah permit still required, after Ramadan? Hajj Ministry clarifies..
The obligation to get a permit to carry out Umrah rituals after the holy month of Ramadan remains in effect, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia. Trending : Jeddah Airport issues update on baggage policy
This came in response to an inquiry on Ministry's Twitter handle, asking, Is Umrah permit still required after Ramadan?
- Responding it, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that, in order to perform Umrah rituals, a permit must be obtained from Nusuk or Tawakkalna platforms, with a condition that the applicant is not infected or in contact with someone infected with Covid-19. The Hajj Ministry also highlighted that the pilgrims and visitors can move between Makkah and Madina and all cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during their stay and their valid period.
- Earlier this, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah called on all pilgrims coming to Makkah Al-Mukarramah to perform the Umrah rituals, during the specified time in the permit and during the validity of the visa.
- The Ministry further pointed out that the visit visa, which extends for 90 days, does not include the performance of Hajj rituals. In order to perform the pilgrim either required Hajj visa, Saudi National ID or resident permit (iqama) and a hajj permit (tasreeh).
- The authority explained that the visitor must need to ensure the completion of Umrah rituals and to leave the Kingdom before the expiry of their visa validity. Read : Saudi Arabia now offers 3-months temporary work visa
