Penalties on smuggling, manufacturing or trading of Explosives and Fireworks in Saudi Arabia
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia warned against manufacture, possessing, exporting, importing, selling, storing, destroying or training in explosives and fireworks, except with a permit from the Ministry in accordance with the provisions of the law and regulations of Explosives and Crackers. The authority highlighted that fireworks pose a grave danger to the health of the society and the environment, and it is not permissible to use them except in the cases stated by law.
- The Saudi Public Prosecution added that anyone who smuggled explosives into the Kingdom, or manufactured them or trade them, shall be punished with the imprisonment for up to 6 months and a fine of up to 100,000 riyals, as per the law of explosives and fireworks (21). - Earlier this, King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital has warned of the danger of fireworks to children's eyes, and injuries that may be caused by such fireworks.
- The hospital explained that fireworks may cause a tear in the eyelid in children, it may burn the eye lid and conjunctiva, the entry of outer bodies into the eye, and the occurrence of a blood clot in the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris. - The King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital highlighted that the circulation of fireworks is prohibited, they are found in the markets illegally for individual use, and there are types manufactured in poor, highly dangerous and unsafe commercial methods for use.
