Saudization of Consultancy sector and jobs in Kingdom starting Today
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia announced the the first stage of the Saudization of the consulting industry and professions has become effective across the Kingdom as of Today, Thursday (April 6, 2023 AD). See Also : 7 cases of employment contract termination
The Ministry of Human Resources stated in a statement, it posted on its official Twitter account that the first phase of the Saudization of consulting professions came into effect following the expiration of the grace period designated for their localization.
- This comes in continuation of the Ministry's efforts to provide an encouraging and productive work environment for both male and female citizens, as well as to increase their level of participation in the Saudi labor market. Recommend : 10 new professions were made available for hiring
- The Ministry further stated that the localization of the consulting industry and professions includes, in its initial stage, the localization of the professions of consultants and specialists who practice consulting work at a rate of 35%, as it is expected that they will create employment opportunities for both male and female Saudi citizens.
- The ministry added that, in order to improve the presence of human cadres in the sector and raise the percentage, the Ministry of Human Resources collaborates with the supervisory authorities, represented by the Ministry of Finance, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, the Authority for Efficiency in Spending and Government Projects and the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).
- The Ministry of Human Resources announced that it will offer a package of incentives and support to help private sector businesses hire Saudis, including help with the hiring process and the search for qualified candidates, help with training and certification, help with the hiring process and career continuity, and help and employment programs through the Human Resources Development Fund. - The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority has also released a guide explaining the specifics of the localization of the consulting sector and professions and its implementation mechanism, along with a commitment to follow through on the promise to include Localization requirements in consulting contracts. The authority also highlighted the need for institutions to follow the rules and regulations in order to avoid statutory penalties.
