In the Year 2022, 16.6 million foreign visitors came to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for all types of travel, according to the report of World Tourism Organization.
- The World Tourism Barometer report for May 2023 published by the WTO shows that the Kingdom also rose 16 spots in the international tourism income index, reaching 11th position in 2022 compared to 27th place globally in 2019. - During the first quarter of 2023, Saudi Arabia saw growth in the tourism industry, welcoming 7.8 million tourists from around the world for a variety of reasons.
- This reflects the sector's best quarterly performance, increasing by 64% from the same time in the Year 2019. According to the most recent WTO data, the nation also ranked second among the tourist destinations with the fastest pace of growth during that time.
- This accomplishment, according to Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, is an addition to the Kingdom's previous successes in a number of different industries. It also represents the completion of the leadership's directives to keep improving the Kingdom's standing on the world tourism stage and increasing its GDP contribution in line with Saudi Vision 2030. - Al-Khateeb highlighted that these accomplishments were due, in part, to simplifying the process of obtaining travel visas, organizing advertising campaigns in the target nations, and having a variety of tourist locations within the Kingdom.
- The minister underlined that the ministry will continue to work with its partners in the public and commercial sectors to strive for the transformation of the Kingdom into a major destination for international tourism.
- Saudi Arabia achieved a new milestone in the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI), moving up ten positions from 2019 to take 33rd place internationally. Trending : Movable domes of the Prophet's Mosque in Madina
