A person arrested for defaming one of the regions of Saudi Arabia on Social Media
A person was arrested by Riyadh police for defaming one of the regions via an audio area on a social networking site and for releasing content that would undermine public order and incite tribal conflict, in addition to other usual actions against him. An official source in the Public Prosecution stated that the decision was based on what was submitted by the Parliamentary Monitoring Centre regarding the incident of abuse and sectarian discrimination of this person, who continued to publish materials on other platforms.
The Public Prosecutor, Sheikh Saud Al-Mujib, ordered the arrest of the aforementioned man based on the Articles 15 and 17 of the Criminal Procedure Law and refer him to the Public Prosecution. Most Viewed : Visit visa holders banned from entering into this airports during Hajj season
- The order issued by the Public Prosecution included referring him to the Public Prosecution, to complete the regular procedures, and to initiate a criminal against him, in preparation for referring him to the competent court and demanding severe penalties in this regard.
