Saudi King orders hosting of 1000 pilgrims from Palestinian families of Martyrs, prisoners


Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the king of Saudi Arabia, has issued an order to host 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims for the Hajj pilgrimage this year, specifically from the families of martyrs, imprisoned, and injured people. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh thanked the King and the Crown Prince for the great work being done for Palestinian Hajj pilgrims and strengthening the deep bond acknowledges the immense sacrifice of the Palestinian people.

- The program for the honored Palestinian guest covers all aspects of the Holy Hajj rituals. The Saudi King bears all the expenses of the 1000 pilgrims from their departure from their home country till return to their home. - This is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals, modern technology and artificial intelligence will be of great help in facilitating the hospitality and providing better service and comfort to the Hajj pilgrims.

- A woman (Mahmoud AL Zanati) who has been waiting patiently for the past 17 years to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, is among the pilgrims chosen to be hosted by the King Salman.

-"First of all, thank to Allah for giving us this opportunity. Our circumstances did not allow us to perform the Hajj by natural means, so we thank the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this recognition, and we thank the people of Saudi Arabia for standing with the Palestinian people", said an emotional Al Zanati. - This year Hajj will be with full capacity of previous level, first time after a gap of 2 years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, where the number of pilgrims was limited as part of earlier precautionary measures during the corona pandemic.

- From the 60,000 and 10,000 pilgrims in the seasons of 2021 and 2020, respectively, this was a huge increase. In 2019, Saudi Arabia welcomed 2.5 million pilgrims before the epidemic.
