- A number of activists criticized Saudi Airlines official account at the time for explaining via "Twitter" that the height between the two planes was only 60 meters, saying that this distance is extremely dangerous because each plane creates currents that may blow the other out.
- Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, a civil pilot and aviation media activist, provided the following analysis, "These moves are only performed after receiving authorization from the governing body".
- He added that, "This action was theoretically used on the ground before being used in the air, and the region's geography, barriers, and crises were researched. For safety reasons and to prevent air whirlwinds between flights, the distance between aircraft must undoubtedly be greater than 500 feet".
