Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, issued the ministerial directive and requested that the service for e-documenting contracts for the Saudization initiative of operation and maintenance in public institutions be approved.
- The service intends to monitor the localization of operation and maintenance contracts in public organizations and to verify that the establishments are adhering to the intended Saudization rates under those contracts. Trending : Saudi Arabia now offers 3-months temporary work visa
- The electronic service will support the Ministry's initiatives to provide Saudi men and women more opportunities to participate in the Saudi labor market.
- The decision will be enforced across all businesses that do business with government agencies and businesses where the government invests at least 51% of its revenue.
- This will cover a number of contracts, such as those for operation, maintenance, road maintenance, city cleaning, catering, and contracts for the operation and maintenance of information technology. Recommend : Iqama issuance and renewal fee in Saudi Arabia
- The decision mandates the localization of operation and maintenance contracts service, which requires establishments with operation and maintenance contracts with public organizations to publish the contracts' data on the electronic platform (Qiwa).
- Additionally, the Ministry made it clear that the decision would be implemented in three stages depending on the size of the enterprises.
- The first phase is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2023, while the second phase is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2024, for large establishments. For all other institutions, the third phase will begin on December 1, 2024. See Also : One of the main condition to transfer job in Saudi Arabia
- The Qiwa platform is a key entry point for the labor market since it aims to automate and speedily track all transactions between parties, including employees, public agencies, and private businesses, without the usage of paper-based records.
- Along with the employee's journey from their first employment to retirement, it also follows the establishment's journey from its beginnings, development, and expansion. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on instagram
