14,529 violators arrested within a Week in Saudi Arabia


The Ministry of Interior reported the arrest of 14,529 people who had broken the Kingdom's residence, work, and border security laws within a week, highlighting that the maximum sentence for concealers is 15 years in prison and a fine of one million riyals. This comes after the coordinated field efforts to track down and penalize offenders from August 17 to August 23, 2023, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, and it produced the following results.

1. A total of 14,529 violators caught during joint security field operations around the Kingdom, including 8,512 infractions of the residence legislation, 3959 violators of the border security law, and 2058 offenders of the labor law.

2. A total of 898 persons were arrested, during their attempt to enter the Kingdom; of these, 63% were Yemenis, 36% were Ethiopians, and 1% were of other nationalities. 3. Five people who were involved in operating, transporting, housing, and concealing those who violated the laws governing residency, employment, and border security were detained.

4. There are 40,015 breaching expatriates who are currently subject to the processes for enforcing the restrictions, among which 32,826 men and 7,189 women.

5. 1854 violators were directed to finish their travel reservations, 9494 violators were deported, and 34067 violators were directed to their diplomatic offices to get travel documents. Recommend : New penalties on labor law violations

- According to the Ministry of Interior, anyone who transfers border security law, violators within the Kingdom, gives them shelter, or offers them any other kind of assistance or service exposes themselves to penalties that can include up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, and confiscation. the modes of transportation and accommodations used, in addition to defamation.

- As per the Ministry, this crime is one of the serious ones that calls for arrest and violates trust and honor. It is advised that anyone who witnesses a violation to call 911 in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in the remaining regions of the Kingdom.
