Updated list of fines on various Municipal violations - Ministry of Municipality, Rural Affairs and Housing
The list of fines for numerous municipal violations was revised by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in Saudi Arabia. The most recent list shows that penalties for trespassing on public property, such as stealing energy from light poles, range from 10000 to 50000 Saudi Riyals. The Ministry stated that businesses would be subject to fines between 5000 and 100,000 riyals as well as the amount of the difference between the standard price and the selling price if they increased the prices of their products above the levels set by the Minister of Commerce or by the appropriate authorities.
- The new regulations stipulates that businesses that start building work without a license would face fines between 10000 and 50000 riyals.
- Firms who neglect to set up an authorized consulting office for excavating work will be subject to fines ranging from 6000 to 30000 riyals. Video : GACA new regulations to protect passengers
- According to the updated regulations, municipalities, mayoralties, and the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at) categories must be taken into consideration when calculating fine amounts.
- The new rules states that the levels of payment rates based on the size of the institution must be taken into consideration so that the percentage reaches 25% of the fine value for micro-enterprises, 50% for small, 75% for medium, and 100% for big establishments.
- The revised regulation defines grave violations as those that could seriously harm public health or individual safety.
