Nose-picking and Spitting could cost 2000 riyals for Restaurant staff


Saudi Arabia announced a detailed list of municipal penalties that explicitly target restaurants, stores, contractors, employees, and people. Related : Updated list of Municipal violations



These sanctions are meant to safeguard public infrastructure, roads, and sanitation, as well as to guarantee that anybody working in the field of public health has a current health certificate.

Public hygiene in restaurants and other establishments:

* Fines can cost between 400 and 2,000 riyals for employees who display poor personal hygiene by picking their nose, spitting, touching their mouth, or similar things.

* Fines for poor toilet hygiene, insect presence, filthy appliances, and unsterilized equipment can be penalized as high as 4,000 riyals, starting from 200 riyals.

Licensing and business regulations:

* Penalties for conducting business without a municipal license can range from 10,000 to 50,000 riyals.

* Fines for engaging in activities that are not permitted or that are not licensed range from 400 to 5,000 riyals.

Road and public space violations by contractors:

Building and Construction violations :

Fines of up to 50,000 riyals may be imposed for starting construction or demolition without the necessary permits or breaching building permit restrictions.

Gas stations and Petroleum violations :

Fines of 1,000 to 10,000 riyals could be imposed for selling illegal or mixed fuels.

Tobacco sales violations :

Medical services and Health practitioners :

Heavy fines of between 2,000 and 50,000 riyals can be imposed for violating health regulations, improperly disposing of medical waste, or improper use of medical equipment.
