Hefty fine for Modifying bumpers of a Car in Saudi Arabia
Security forces in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have started a campaign to keep an eye on people who illegally change bumpers. This is a trend that is said to be growing, especially among young drivers, according to a local media news. Most Viewed video : Saudi Arabia simplifies visit to Makkah and Madina from India
Cars with bumpers that are cut off at both ends have been seen on the roads in the kingdom, which has raised worries about what might happen. This trend was very popular on social media, where it was seen as a craze among young drivers, as per the report of Sabq news.
The article says that if a car with a cut-off bumper is found, it will be stopped and the owner could be fined up to 1,000 riyals.
In an effort to cut down on car crashes, Saudi Arabia recently made it harder to break the rules of the road. In September, drivers were warned not to turn on the road, and those who did so could be fined between 3,000 and 6,000 riyals. The General Directorate of Traffic says that swerving can make you lose control and cause a crash quickly. Back in August, drivers who don't give pedestrians priority at marked crossings were given fines of 100 to 150 riyals.
Using a cellphone while driving can also get you fined up to 900 riyals, and driving a car with damaged or confusing license plates can get you fined between 1,000 and 2,000 riyals.
It is expected that road accidents in Saudi Arabia cost about 11.7 billion riyals each year. See Also : Saudi Arabia penalized a person for violating Anti-cybercrime law
