MHRSD to launch Insurance Service for new Domestic Worker Contracts from February
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia stated that the "Domestic Worker Contract Insurance" service would be available to new domestic workers who hired their first job through the Musaned platform, as of February 1, 2024. The Ministry said that insurance will be included in contracts for domestic workers for the first two years. This is because it is part of the employer's contracting process with the recruitment office or company. After two years, the employer will be able to choose whether to include insurance or not.
- This service is now open to Musaned clients, because it was first made available by the Ministry. Since the beginning of the year 2023, customers have had the option to use this service, over 175,000 customers have chosen this option.
- The Ministry also said that the insurance service covers a number of situations where both the boss and the domestic worker can get money back.
