Saudi Arabia launches "KSA Visa" the new Unified Visa Platform


Saudi Arabia announced the start of a unified visa platform called "KSA Visa (ksavisa.sa)" to make the process of applying for a all types of visas easier. The Kingdom Government wants to get more people from all over the world in the next few years, and this is one way they plan to do that. Assistant Minister for Executive Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdulhadi Almansouri spoke at the Digital Government Forum (DGF) in Riyadh on Tuesday. He said that this platform is connected to more than 30 agencies, ministries, and the private sector to make the process of getting different types of visas easier. These include the Hajj visa, the visit visa for Umrah or tourism, and work visas.

- The aim of the platform is to automate the most important procedures to improve the user's visa journey. The platform also empowers the user with technical features to facilitate obtaining and managing visas.

- KSA Visa is a modern identity that reflects the platform's values and mission in welcoming visitors, facilitating procedures and activating the platform's national role in enabling the Kingdom's goals.

- One of the objective of the platform KSA Visa is a rich and distinctive user experience aimed at facilitating the journey in obtaining visas.


- Through government visas, the GOV.SA platform will assist to give more than 50 government agencies and business sectors more power. It will also automate the most important steps in the visa process to make the experience of visitors better.

- People can quickly find out what visas are offered on GOV.SA, which is a smart search engine. It's a single source of information on what you need to do to get each type of visa and how to apply for them. The platform also has a visitor's up-to-date personal file, which makes it easier for them to get passes and apply again in the future.

- The new Saudi platform is being launched at the same time that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is working to create a single tourist ticket for the Gulf. This is because the Supreme Council of the GCC countries agreed to do this at the Doha Summit in November. The meeting gave the GCC interior ministers the power to take the steps needed to make the new visa rules work.


- It's interesting to note that Saudi Arabia gave out more than 18.6 million visas in the year 2023, and the time it took to give out digital visas was cut down to 60 seconds. The Kingdom also worked with 56 other countries on the process of digitizing visas.

According to Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Saudi Arabia is continuing the digital transformation journey in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. This is being done by letting all government agencies improve the efficiency of digital services that help people's experiences and quality of life, as well as making the country more competitive.
