Saudi Arabia ranked 2nd in G20 countries in ICT Development Index 2023
Saudi Arabia moved up 10 spots to become the second best country in the G20, as per the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) released the ICT Development Index (IDI) 2023. Most Viewed : Average salary in Saudi Arabia
The ITU keeps an eye on the economies of 169 countries to see how far they have come in providing ICT services based on two main pillars, "meaningful connectivity" and "universal connectivity."
- The International Telecommunication Union looks at things like how well they provide high-quality infrastructure and keep the internet safe for everyone.
- The ICT Development Index shows that Saudi Arabia has a strong ICT infrastructure and offers reliable and cheap services that help the country's digital economy expand, bring in investment, and make the Saudi ICT market bigger. - The index also shows that Saudi Arabia is committed to improving its ICT services and infrastructure to help the economy grow and create new jobs. This makes the Saudi ICT market the biggest and fastest-growing in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
- With a 99% rise in internet access in Saudi Arabia, the IDI shows that the country's digital infrastructure is strong and well-developed. To help Saudi Vision 2030's goals of becoming a world leader in digital growth, more than 93 billion riyals has been spent on capital investments in digital infrastructure over the last 6 years. This put Saudi Arabia among the top countries in terms of international indicators.
- The ITU has been putting out the IDI since 2009 to track the growth of the ICT sector. It includes data and methods sent in by member states and experts in the field that are open and easy to understand.
