Exit re-entry visas that are issued to resident expat workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to leave and re-enter the country, can be canceled through the employer's account on a Absher platform, confirmed the authorities. Related Video : How to extend Exit Re-Entry visa of Saudi Arabia

The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) said that exit re-entry visa of expatriate employees can only be canceled through the Absher platform related to the employer, and that the fees paid in order to issue the visa is non-refundable, even after the cancelation of re-entry visa.

- As part of Jawazat's move to go for digital services, the authority has also asked expats to use its services on Absher instead of visiting to the Passport offices. As part of these services, the iqama (residency permit) can be issued and renewed, as well as the exit/re-entry visa and the final exit visa can be issued through Absher.

- Recently, Saudi Jawazat added a set of services for expats who are outside of Saudi Arabia. Foreigners who are leaving Saudi Arabia on exit/re-entry visas can now come back until the end of their visas.

- Last year in August, the General Directorate of Passports said that people with exit/re-entry visas can also have their visas extended online while they are outside of Saudi Arabia, after they pay the necessary fees through the Absher platform or the Muqeem portal. - The Saudi official also said that the expatriate's passport had to be valid for at least 90 days in order to get an exit/re-entry visa and 60 days in order to get a final exit visa.

- The exit/re-entry visa, on the other hand, cannot be changed into a final exit visa if the expat worker is not in the kingdom.

- Saudi Arabia is a second home to a lot of expats who come to work and live in the Kingdom from other countries. Statistics from the government show that out of Saudi Arabia's total population of 32.2 million, about 13.4 million are foreigners, or 41.5%.
