Ejar has approved Mada or SADAD as digital payment channels. To use these channels, you must enter the biller number 153. Ejar platform made it clear that adding the digital payment method to the app is in line with the Council of Ministers' decision.
- As explained by the authority, paying rent through Ejar applies to all new residential rental contracts. "After January 15, any proof of rent payments made outside of Mada and SADAD's digital channels on Ejar, using the number 153, will not be taken into account." "As of right now, this directive does not cover commercial lease agreements," it said.
- The authorities have said that it will gradually stop giving out electronic receipt vouchers for new residential contracts. This is because the payment will be settled directly if it is made through a digital channel, so there will be no need to give out a voucher.
- This is in line with a Cabinet decision to set up an internet payment service for rent contract payments, this is what is being done. Those who benefit from the rental housing market should be able to make it easy for tenants to pay their bills online and deposit the money in the landlord's bank account, which is listed in the lease. - The Real Estate Authority highlighted that the first step is for the landlord and tenant to sign the rental agreement on Ejar through a real estate broker licensed by the authority. Then, the landlord and tenant can start using the digital payment channels on Ejar to make payments. After being paid through the digital channels, it reaches to the bank account of Landlord registered in the rental contract within 5 working days.
- The aim of the Ejar platform is to protect the rights of tenants at every step of the rental process. This starts with inspecting the apartment to make sure it's in good shape before the tenant signs the standard contract with the landlord. The landlord is then required to do regular maintenance and is responsible for the building's safety. Finally, Ejar makes the rental process easier for the tenant.
- The Ejar has shown the benefits of digital payment. The most important ones are protecting the rights of both parties to the rental agreement, keeping track of payments, and not having to print out electronic receipts. Along with improving electronic transactions, making real estate operations more open, lowering real estate fraud, and making it easier for tenants to pay rent when partial payment is possible, if both parties agree to this, this will also make things easier for tenants.
