Saudi Arabia approves and mandates Special Uniforms for Bus drivers
A new uniform code has been set up by the Transport General Authority (TGA) of Saudi Arabia for bus drivers who work in specialized transport activities, bus rental and guidance, educational transport, and international passenger transport. The new rules, which go into force on April 27, 2024, are part of an effort to make sure that all drivers look the same, improve quality service, and improve the general impression of this important sector of Saudi Arabia that helps many residents, tourists, and visitors.
- The official dress for women drivers lets them wear an abaya with boots or shoes and a black cap or a head cover if they want to. The mandatory uniform comprises of a long-sleeved blue shirt, black pants, a black belt, and black boots are all part of the required outfit.
- The men's outfit is also very flexible. It lets you wear the national dress with boots or shoes and, if you want, a Shemagh or Ghutra or black cap. - These uniform standards must be followed by licensed businesses that run bus transportation for the events listed and people who are authorized to transport students.
- The Authority allows businesses make their own outfits as long as they get permission first. You can choose between a long- or short-sleeved shirt, long pants, a belt, boots, and a cap that matches the color of the shirt.
- Drivers may also wear a jacket or coat over their outfit, as long as it doesn't get in the way of their work. Driver ID cards need to have the driver's name, picture, driver number, and the business's name and logo on them.
