Ministry of Interior arrests more than 17,000 violators within a Week in Saudi Arabia
Within a week, joint field campaigns in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arrested 17,376 individuals in violation of residency, work, and border security regulations, according to the Ministry of the Interior. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on Telegram
Campaigns to monitor and control those who violated residency, work, and border security regulations were conducted in all regions of the Kingdom between 28th December 2023 and 3rd January 2024, respectively, as per the Ministry. The results that come are as follows:
1. Joint security field campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom captured a total of 17,376 violators. Of these, 2,793 were violations of the labor law, 10,689 of the residency law, and 3,894 of the border security law.
2. A total of 722 individuals were detained during their attempt to cross the border into the Kingdom, of these, 34% were Yemenis, 63% were Ethiopians, and 3% belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, 74 people were arrested in connection with their attempt to cross the border of the kingdom in an unauthorized way.
3. Seventeen individuals were arrested for transporting, harboring, and employing those who violated residency, employment, and border security regulations and covering up for them. Most Viewed : Average salary in Saudi Arabia for Citizens and Expats
4. There are currently 54,411 expatriates in violation of regulations, of which 5,599 are women and 48,812 are men, as a result of implementation procedures.
5. Violations were referred to their respective diplomatic missions in order to obtain travel documents for (46,583) offenders, completed travel reservations for (2,337) offenders, or were deported for (8,292) offenders.
- Individuals who assist or encourage border law violators into the Kingdom, transport them within the kingdom, offer them shelter, or provide any form of assistance or service to them are subject to a fine of up to one million riyals, and imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years, according to the Ministry of Interior. - The Ministry elaborated that this violation is regarded as a serious offense that requires arrest and is contrary to principles of honesty and trust. The authority urged individuals to report any instances of noncompliance to the following numbers, 911 in the areas of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Al-Sharqiya, 999 and 996 in the remaining regions of the Kingdom.
