Saudi Arabia lowers Domestic Worker recruitment fees from 6 nations


The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia announced that certain countries ceilings on the price of recruiting domestic helpers have been reduced. The following nations are part of this group, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Trending : SOCPA exposes forged certificates to Saudi Public Prosecution



This action is part of the Ministry's larger plan to evaluate appropriate procedures and recruitment expenses in light of the recent changes in those costs.

- The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that in an effort to maintain reasonable pricing, the maximum ceiling for recruitment fees from the Philippines was lowered from 15,900 riyals to 14,700 riyals.

Additionally, the following countries had their recruitment cost caps lowered,

* Sri Lanka recruitment costs reduced to13,800 riyals from 15,000 riyals.

* Bangladesh recruitment prices reduced to 11,750 riyals from 13,000 riyals.

* Kenya costs reduced to 10,870 riyals from 9,000 riyals. Most Viewed : Ramadan 2024 is expected to start from this date

* Uganda recruiting costs reduced to 8,300 riyals from 9,500 riyals and 

* Ethiopia hiring prices lowered to 5,900 riyals from 6,900 riyals.

- The Ministry has previously instructed licensed businesses and offices to establish maximum charges for hiring domestic workers from certain countries. For example, the maximum charge for hiring domestic workers from Burundi is 7,500 riyals, the maximum charge from Sierra Leone is 7,500 riyals, and the maximum charge from Thailand is 10,000 riyals (not including Valued Added Tax). - This decision is made as part of the Ministry's commitment to developing all services, improving the labor market, and making it more attractive. The Ministry is keen on reviewing costs, services, and systems in relation to economic variables. It stresses to all customers the need to not exceed the announced price ceiling and will follow through on implementing this, by means of the "Musaned" website.
