Ramadan road accident deaths climb 27% before Iftar

A 10% rise in fatal traffic accidents occurs in the hours leading up to the holy month's morning call to prayer (fajr), according to the report of Saudi General Authority for Roads.

- The official highlighted that drivers must follow all safety protocols at all times. In February 2024, it conducted over 112 inspection tours and related activities to guarantee the quality of road projects and maintenance works. Among these, 38 operations reviewed road project plans, and nine operations examined road construction materials.

In addition to 33 road projects, the authority officials toured 32 companies that provide supplies for the construction of roads.
