Riyadh Air receives more than 1 Million Job Applications
Public Investment Fund (PIF) owned Riyadh Air, which began accepting online applications for jobs on March 12 of last year, has received more than one million applications, the airline revealed on Wednesday. Trending : Aramex opens its regional headquarters in Riyadh
The airline held many recruitment roadshows in major cities including London, Paris, Dubai, and Riyadh, and got applications from more than 100 countries.
The planned launch year for the Riyadh Air is 2025. By increasing non-oil GDP by $20 billion and generating more than 200,000 employment worldwide and in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Air aspires to help achieve Saudi Vision 2030 and diversify the Kingdom's economy.
- As Riyadh Air celebrates its first anniversary, CEO Tony Douglas made the following statement, "2023 was a monumental year for Riyadh Air, and we are extremely proud of the progress we have made in the last 12 months, but we are only just getting started."
- He added that, "We are expecting an even bigger year this year and cannot wait to reveal more details as we speed up to our maiden flight in the Year 2025 and become the most forward-thinking carrier in the skies." - The airline has an option to buy a further 33 planes, bringing the total number of Boeing Dreamliners they have purchased to 39, as of last year. To power its Boeing 787 aircraft, Riyadh Air also inked a deal for 90 GEnx engines.
- Airline partners Saudia, Turkish Airlines, Boeing, General Electric, CAE, Swiss AS, Lucid Motors, Lufthansa Systems, and Atlético de Madrid are among those with whom Riyadh Air has inked partnership agreements in the last year.
- Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and Accenture were among the airline's other partners. Riyadh Air debuted two permanent dual-livery designs in its inaugural year.
- Riyadh Air also announced a deal with Turkish Airlines at the 15th International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) Air Services Negotiation event (ICAN). This is the first major agreement for Riyadh Air outside of Saudi Arabia, and it will offer a wide variety of benefits to guests traveling between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
