Vegetable waste in Saudi Arabia exceeds 1 Million tons annually
In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture wants the citizens and residents to be more aware of the problem of vegetable waste and encourages responsible usage. Trending : Ramadan, Fasting and Lailatul Qadr in the Holy Quran
"Increasing awareness and promoting rational consumption behavior is one of the inspiring solutions to deal with the huge amount of vegetables that are lost every year, which is a major challenge for the agricultural sector in the Kingdom," the Ministry said.
- The ministry called this as an important issue for the agricultural sector and said that every year Saudi Arabia loses a lot of vegetables, like 234,000 tons of tomatoes, 201,000 tons of potatoes, 110,000 tons of onions, 82,000 tons of cucumbers, and 38,000 tons of zucchini, which adds up to over 335,000 tons of extra vegetable waste.

- The citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are asked to follow habits that help veggies be used efficiently and stored properly so that less food is wasted and the food system works well for everyone.
