An Expatriate Female Doctor was arrested for illegal practice in Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announced that a female expatriate doctor had been arrested at a specialized medical facility for engaging in unlawful practice. Trending : 4 social media influencers fined and suspended for offensive content
The woman was employed in a specialization for which she lacked the necessary qualifications, according to an inspection team from the Ministry of Health. Officials from the ministry also saw that the woman was publishing business adverts nonstop, without any scientific basis. Her temporary suspension from practicing medicine was imposed by the ministry for a duration of four months.
- The violation was discovered when the ministry's compliance teams were conducting their routine inspections and monitoring. As part of their mission to protect patients, the public, and the credibility of the medical community, these groups actively monitor social media for any mentions of potential threats.
- In a recent statement, the Kingdom's Ministry of Health highlighted the importance of everyone following the health standards and the preventative procedures and measures already in place. As an additional recommendation, it urged the general population to seek medical treatment from properly authorized providers. Patients have the right to see licenses displayed at healthcare facilities, according to the ministry. - People were urged to avoid both unlicensed medical professionals and establishments that are not authorized to provide medical treatment. The ministry proudly states that its regulations are designed to safeguard patients rights, health practitioners rights, the medical profession, and practitioners themselves, while also taking care of patients well-being.
- The Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions states that in order to practice any health profession, one must first obtain a license, and that it is prohibited to examine patients in locations other than those specifically authorized for that purpose, as stated in Article 2.
