During an interview with Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath, the minister made the comments while in Luxembourg for the inaugural high-level EU-GCC Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation.

- Ministers and officials from the Gulf and the European Union met at the forum to review recent events in the Gaza Strip, stress the need for an immediate ceasefire, increase humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people, and restart the peace process in order to impose the two-state solution and reach regional stability and security.

- Security and strategic cooperation between EU member states and Gulf states were also discussed during their discussion.
