Saudi Arabia is providing RSV Vaccine to Elders to combat Respiratory risks
Citizens and Residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are of 60 years and above will now be able to get the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine from the Ministry of Health. Most Viewed : Last date for Umrah visa holders to leave Saudi Arabia
The infectious diseases consultant Dr. Abdullah Mufarreh Asiri has urged people to get the vaccine by contacting their family doctor using the Sehhaty app. He has pointed out that this virus is a major risk factor for respiratory infections and heart attacks.
- This virus is the leading cause of hospitalization in the first year of birth, major contributor to pneumonia and related deaths and of lung infections and fatalities connected to them in the elderly, as pointed out by Asiri. God willing, the vaccination is expected to drastically decrease the disease load caused by this stubborn virus. Read : 50% discount on Traffic fines in KSA comes into force
- Keep in mind that the virus seems like a cold at first, but when it gets to a child's lungs, it suddenly becomes much worse. Signs that something is wrong include a dry cough, a high temperature, trouble breathing, dehydration, a runny nose, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
- With its clearance in the EU, Canada, the US, the UK, and Japan, the RSV vaccination will now be available to anyone aged 65 and up in Saudi Arabia, according to Dr. Asiri's earlier January remarks. More than one vaccination targeting the first six months of a child's life is now being considered for approval. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Instagram
