Saudi Arabia starts arresting Unauthorized Passenger pickups at its Airports


During the last week, from the 17th to the 23rd of Ramadan, the Transport General Authority (TGA) reported 648 people arrested and 582 vehicles seized for illegal passenger transportation activities at airports around the Kingdom. As part of its ongoing regulatory initiatives, the Authority is coordinating this move with the Ministry of the Interior and other relevant institutions.

- In addition to encouraging passengers to make use of airport transportation choices, the Authority stated that the regulatory campaign's goals include reducing the amount of unlicensed practices and raising the bar for services offered to customers.

- Offering unauthorized passenger transport services at airports is a serious offense that can result in fines of up to 5000 riyals and the seizure of the vehicle used. - In addition, the Authority stressed that the goal of these regulatory campaigns is to educate beneficiaries about their mobility alternatives, promote interactions with regulated carriers, and enhance service quality.
