Saudi Arabia starts issuing Hajj permits for domestic pilgrims

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and the official platform Absher would be used to issue permits for the domestic Hajj pilgrims, according to the Saudi TV Al Ekhbariya.

- The Hajj is due this year in June, and Saudi Arabia launched online registration in February for its citizens and Muslim expats within the Kingdom who want to perform it.

- Depending on the category of lodging, the four pilgrimage packages released by the Ministry of Hajj range in price from SR4,099 to SR13,265. Payment for these bundles can be spread out over three installments, according to the ministry.

- The first installment, equal to 20% of the total, was due by the first day of Ramadan, the Islamic lunar month that began on March 11. The second installment, equal to 40%, is due by the 20th of Ramadan, or March 31. The third installment, to be paid by the following Islamic month of Shawwal, or April 29, is due. - Qualifying pilgrims and Hajj workers are obligated to acquire specific vaccinations. At least one dose of the modernized COVID-19 vaccine for adults, as well as the Anti-seasonal flu shot and Meningitis inoculation, are required.

- Last year, the number of Hajj pilgrims returned to pre-pandemic levels, with over 1.8 million people making the journey to Makkah and its holy places.

- A fresh approach for pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia has prompted the kingdom to begin early Hajj preparations this year. Therefore, nations would no longer be assigned distinct locations at the sacred sites. On the other hand, the time of contract finalization determines the distribution of slots among nations.
