- Climate change is changing turbulence, according to Paul Williams, an atmospheric science professor at the UK's University of Reading, who spoke with CNN in 2022.

- "Our computer models indicate that extreme turbulence may increase by a factor of two or three in the next few decades," Williams stated.

- The results, which were later confirmed by observations, showcase a form of turbulence known as "clear air turbulence," which is unrelated to any observable indicators like clouds or storms. It is unexpected and difficult to prevent, unlike typical turbulence.
