A 54-meter-long piece of white cotton material with a 2.5-meter width was used to cover the elevated portion of the Kiswah. As planned, this went in place during the Hajj season of the year 2024.

- According to the Saudi Press Agency, the ritual of lifting the Kaaba kiswa is performed annually at Makkah's Grand Mosque as a safety measure to prevent the pilgrims from damaging the Kiswah as they tend to touch during the tawaf, or circumambulation, around the Holy Kaaba.

- The method of raising the Kiswah was executed by a team of 36 highly trained Saudi technical specialists accompanied by ten cranes. Typically, there are multiple stages to raising the kiswa of the Holy Kaaba. Most Viewed : Fine for not carrying a driving license in Saudi Arabia

- The last step is to wrap the bottom half of the Kiswah of the Kaaba's door with the white fabric, after which the lanterns are reinstalled over the cloth. This process continues until all of the lanterns have been removed.

- The kiswa is wrapped around the Holy Kaaba with a height of 3 meters, parallel to it at a 1-meter height difference. Read : Saudi Arabia amends Flexible Work Regulation to raise the working hours
