Saudi Arabia announces Eid Al-Adha holidays for Private and Non-Profit sector
In observance of Eid Al Adha, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia has announced a four-day holiday for the private and non-profit sectors, which is scheduled to occur from June 15th to June 18th, 2024. The announcement was made after Thursday's confirmed crescent Moon sighting, which marks the commencement of Dhul Hijjah on Friday, June 7.
As the beginning of Dhul Hijjah approaches, Friday, June 14 will mark the beginning of the Hajj journey for the year 2024 (1445 AH). So, Arafah will be celebrated on June 15th, and Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on June 16th.
In an effort to give workers in the designated industries time to prepare for the holidays, the ministry announced the dates on the social media platform X. Follow Saudi Expatriates on X
Since the crescent moon of Dhu Al-Hijjah was spotted in the Kingdom on Thursday evening, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced earlier on Thursday that Friday, June 7, will be the first day of Dhul Hijjah month.
