Saudi Arabia ranks 1st Globally in the Cybersecurity Index


The 2024 Global Competitiveness Yearbook study, published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland, ranked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the top country in the world when it came to cybersecurity. Trending : Fine for not carrying a driving license



On this occasion, the following was raised by the Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, on behalf of himself and the members of the Board of Directors and all employees of the Authority, Congratulations and blessings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the Kingdom's ranking first globally in the cybersecurity index in the Annual book Report on Global Competitiveness for 2024.

- He highlighted that this worldwide success confirms the Kingdom's position as a leader in cybersecurity indicators, confirms what other international indicators have found, and contributes to the advancement of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, which in turn enable growth and prosperity in the development and economic sectors.

- According to him, the cybersecurity sector in the Kingdom was established with a focus on both security and development, with a number of local and international dimensions. The goal was to make Saudi Arabia's cybersecurity model a successful and pioneering one, with record-breaking development in the cybersecurity system since the National Authority was established. - The Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE) was established to serve as the technical arm of the Saudi Cybersecurity Authority (KSA), which is the national authority in charge of cybersecurity in the Kingdom. The KSA recognizes the importance of cybersecurity in safeguarding its critical infrastructure, government services and activities, priority entities in both the public and private sectors, and its vital interests.

Following the Kingdom's proposal, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf established the Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity. The Arab heads of state also authorized the establishment of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, with Riyadh serving as the site for the council's headquarters, general secretariat, and executive office. - Launching the National Cybersecurity Academy to offer training programs and cyber exercises to improve cyber readiness was one of many initiatives aimed at developing human capabilities in the field of cybersecurity.
