Saudi Arabia discovers major Oil and Natural gas fields in Eastern Province and Empty Quarter


New oil and gas fields discovered in the Empty Quarter and Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, as per the Kingdom announcement on Monday. Saudi Aramco has found two unconventional oil fields, one Arabian light oil reservoir, two natural gas fields, and two natural gas reservoirs in the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter, according to Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Minister of Energy. In the Eastern Province, the Al-Ladam unconventional oil field was found after the Ladam-2 well began producing very light Arabian oil at a rate of 5,100 barrels per day, along with around 4.9 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. Following the daily flow of 4557 barrels of Arabian very light oil and approximately 3.79 million standard cubic feet of gas from the Al-Farouq-4 well, the Eastern Province's discovery of the Al-Farouq unconventional oil field was validated.

- After the Mazaleej-62 well began producing Arab light oil at a rate of 1,780 bpd and gas at a rate of around 0.7 mscf/d, the Unayza B/C reservoir was also found in the Mazaleej field in the Eastern Province.

- At a rate of 5.3 million standard cubic feet per day from the Al-Arab-C reservoir in the Al-Jahaq-1 well and 1.1 million standard cubic feet per day from the Al-Arab-C reservoir in the same well, the minister announced that the Al-Jahaq natural gas field had been found in the Empty Quarter. - Natural gas flowed from the Al-Katuf-1 well at a rate of 7.6 million standard cubic feet per day, with around 40 barrels per day of condensate. This validated the finding of the Al-Katuf field in the Empty Quarter.

- Asikra-6 well natural gas flowed at 4.9 million standard cubic feet per day, leading to the discovery of the Hanifa reservoir in the Asikra field of the Empty Quarter. Along with approximately 100 barrels of condensate per day, it was flowing into the same well at a rate of 0.6 million standard cubic feet per day from the Al-Fadhili reservoir.

- The huge finds were praised by Prince Abdulaziz as an act of Allah Almighty. He gave thanks to God, which He had received as a blessing. The minister praised King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their outstanding accomplishments, and he prayed to God to grant the Kingdom and its people eternal peace, prosperity, and safety.
