8.6 Million Gulf Tourists visited Saudi Arabia and spent over SR15 billion


According to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, 8.6 million tourists from five GCC states visited Saudi Arabia in the year 2023, spending about 15 billion Saudi Riyals in total. Read : ESB for domestic workers in Saudi Arabia



Travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, both permanent residents and visitors, flocked to Saudi Arabia.

The ministry's annual report on tourism statistics for the year 2023 showed that, out of all the GCC nations, Bahrain sent the most tourists with over 3.4 million, followed by Kuwait with over 2.3 million.

With about 1.4 million tourists, the United Arab Emirates came in third place, about 1.1 million tourists visited were from Qatar and 455,000 tourists were from Oman, making it the least popular country.

In the year 2023, more than 27 million foreign tourists visited Saudi Arabia, spending more than 141 billion Saudi Riyals. This is quite remarkable.
