GACA penalized Companies and Individuals with 4.5 Million Riyals for violations
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia penalized companies and individuals with about 4.5 million Saudi Riyals for multiple violations. As they were found guilty of disobeying the Saudi Civil Aviation Law, its executive regulations, and authority-issued orders. In its report for the second quarter of 2024, GACA, represented by the committee charged with investigating violations of the Civil Aviation Law, contained the mentioned facts. There were a total of 111 infractions issued by the committee, and those responsible were fined more than SR 4.5 million.
Among the 111 infractions cited in the report, 92 were levied against airlines for failing to adhere to rules meant to safeguard passengers rights. These fines were 4.4 million Saudi Riyals, and there were 5 further violations by air carriers that did not adhere to the GACA's rules and directions, for a combined total of SR140000.

The committee fined 12 people a total of 3900 Saudi Riyals for offenses, 10 of which were caught on camera aboard the plane, and another 2 for using drones without the proper authorization, for a grand total of SR10,000, according to the report.
The authority has indicated that these legal procedures are part of its effort to create transparency and clarity, as well as show its ongoing dedication to its duty as a regulator and supervisor in the aviation industry.
