The Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia issues this card, which contains vital information about your identity and residency. You can find the cardholder's name and Iqama number in both Arabic and English, even if most of the details are in Arabic.

Although it is mandatory to have your resident permit or Iqama with you at all times, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) made it clear in the year 2023 that having your digital Iqama is sufficient.

According to the authorities, expats, their dependents, and foreign workers who renewed their Iqama recently would no longer need to carry a physical copy of the document, instead, they can use their digital iqama on their smartphone

For this, get the Absher app, it works with Huawei, Android, and Apple smartphones.

1. Access your Absher account by entering your login credentials.

2.  Select "My Services" from the available options.

3. In which, "Activate Digital ID" is one of the primary choices that appears.

4. After that, you can view your resident ID's basic information. The option to "Activate Digital ID" will be accessible after you scroll down.

- In case an official requires proof of residency, they can simply scan the QR code you receive on your Digital iqama.

1. Go to absher.sa

2. Enter your login credentials to access your Absher account.

3. The mobile number you provided will be used to send you a verification code.

4. Select "View Digital documents" from the menu that appears next to your profile photo.
