Over 20,000 violators arrested in Saudi Arabia on violations of Regulations


In a span of one week, 20,471 individuals were arrested by joint field campaigns that followed rules regarding residency, employment, and border security, according to the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia. Trending : KSA tops in Employment Growth Index, out of 67 countries



In all regions of the Kingdom, from 1st August 2024, or 7th August 2024, the Ministry of Interior conducted campaigns to monitor and arrest anyone who violated regulations regarding residency, work, and border security. The results of these campaigns were as follows, according to the Ministry.

1. The combined security field operations throughout the Kingdom identified a total of 20,471 violations, with 12,972 coming from the residence law, 4,812 from the border security law, and 2,687 from the labor law.

2. Out of a total of 1,050 individuals arrested while attempting to enter the Kingdom, 36% were Yemeni, 62% were Ethiopian, and 2% were of other nationalities. Also, 61 individuals were taken into custody for attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally across the border.

3. Twenty people were caught for their roles in assisting, employing, and transporting individuals who violated rules regarding residence, labor, and border security, as well as for covering their activities. Most Viewed : New amendments in Saudi Labor Law

4. There are a total of 14,929 who have violated the regulations and are now being dealt with by the implementation procedures, among them are 13,522 men and 1,407 women.

5. A total of 5,701 violators were sent to their respective diplomatic posts in order to procure travel documents, 2,494 were directed to finalize their travel arrangements, and 9,714 were ordered to be deported.

The Ministry of Interior has announced that individuals who assist and promote border security violators, whether by transporting them within the Kingdom, providing shelter, or offering any form of assistance or service, face defamation, a fine of up to one million riyals, and possible penalties of up to fifteen years in prison.

The authority went on to say that this is a serious offense that calls for an arrest warrant and that it betrays a lack of respect and confidence. The Ministry urged anyone in the Eastern Province, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, or Riyadh to call (911), while those in the rest of the Kingdom should call (999) or (996).
